Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Pantry Raid is designed to help people use the groceries they already have before buying more. This Privacy Policy explains what information Pantry Raid may collect, store, use, disclose, and retain when you use the Pantry Raid website and mobile app.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Pantry Raid's website, iOS app, and related support interactions. Pantry Raid does not currently require an account to use the core app, but some information is still processed so that features like AI recipe generation, subscriptions, and local grocery pricing can work.

Information Pantry Raid may collect

Depending on the feature you use, Pantry Raid may collect or process the following categories of information:

  • Kitchen photos you choose to scan, such as pantry, fridge, freezer, or mixed-kitchen photos
  • Ingredient confirmations, manual ingredient edits, shopping list items, and saved recipes
  • Onboarding and preference information, including cuisine preferences, dietary styles, allergies, and kitchen equipment
  • ZIP code and store-selection information used for local grocery price estimates
  • Subscription and purchase status information needed to unlock paid features or restore purchases
  • Device, app, and diagnostic information reasonably needed to secure, maintain, and improve the service
  • Contact information you choose to provide if you email support

Where information comes from

Pantry Raid collects information directly from you, from your device when you grant permissions, from Apple and subscription processors in connection with in-app purchases, and from service providers that help power AI recipe generation or local pricing.

How Pantry Raid uses information

  • To generate recipe ideas from confirmed ingredients
  • To apply allergy, cuisine, dietary, and kitchen-equipment preferences
  • To support premium access and purchase restoration
  • To estimate grocery pricing when supported by your configured store and ZIP code
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Pantry Raid
  • To respond to support requests and legal obligations

AI processing

Pantry Raid uses an AI provider to analyze kitchen photos and generate recipe ideas. When you use those features, the photo, ingredient context, and related preferences needed to fulfill your request may be transmitted to that provider. Pantry Raid does not use those requests to create a public profile about you, but service-provider retention and abuse-monitoring practices may still apply under the provider's own terms.

How Pantry Raid discloses information

Pantry Raid may disclose information to service providers that help operate the product, such as AI-processing vendors, subscription infrastructure providers, and grocery-pricing providers. Pantry Raid may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or support a business transfer.

Subscriptions and payment information

Pantry Raid does not directly process your full payment card details. Purchases are made through Apple's App Store, and Pantry Raid may receive subscription status, renewal state, expiration details, and related identifiers needed to unlock or restore premium access. Pantry Raid also uses subscription infrastructure providers to help manage that entitlement state.

Grocery-pricing information

If you choose to use local grocery pricing, Pantry Raid may send your ZIP code, store selection, and shopping-list item names to pricing providers to estimate local totals. That feature is currently designed for United States grocery pricing.

Data retention

Much of Pantry Raid's core data is stored locally on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or remove the app. Information sent to service providers may be retained for limited periods under those providers' security, fraud-prevention, logging, or contractual retention practices.

Your choices and rights

  • You can revoke camera or photo permissions in your device settings
  • You can use Pantry Raid's Settings screen to clear all app data stored locally on your device
  • You can delete the app to remove app-local data that remains on your device
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account subscription settings
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of certain information

No sale of personal information

Pantry Raid does not sell personal information for money and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

Pantry Raid uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to the nature of the data involved. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and you should avoid uploading information you do not want processed for the requested feature.

Health-related information

Pantry Raid may process allergy and dietary-preference information that could be considered health-related in some contexts. Pantry Raid is not a HIPAA-covered entity, and if Pantry Raid experiences a breach involving certain identifiable health-related information, applicable breach-notification laws or rules may apply.

Children's privacy

Pantry Raid is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

International processing

Pantry Raid and its service providers may process information in the United States and in other jurisdictions where those providers operate, subject to applicable law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Pantry Raid may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves, laws change, or new features are added. When that happens, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
